So I opened this thread again, looked at the pic, and realized. You know you have car addiction issues when the above picture gets you excited....

Note, on the first F10 M5 picture above (posted by Tuned1M), the center cap is upside down. One guy told me a little dab of silicone glue will keep them positioned the right way.

Looks like BMW always has the M positioned on top.

I see how it is on the new 135i Performance hatch, and it still goes against my logical choice (but then again, never argued I am sane...)

Yes, and following on from that, if you turn the wheel so that the tiny emblem is in line with the brake caliper, wouldn't it be logical to have the brake and wheel emblems the same way round. Not saying that's right --- just the way I see it.

Thumbs up to mpower2. Looks really good.

I sent a friend with a 2000 E39 M5 to re-finish his wheels. While at it, the shop decided to freshen up his calipers. They discovered that there is an ///M logo embedded in them, and were kind enough to paint it in the tricolor scheme. So guess how BMW positioned the logos back then, the way I personally find it to be more 'logical/intuitive', yet it seems now on their Performance rotors they've switched the direction. I guess confirming there is no right/wrong way to do this:
