Slight blue smoke at steady RPM's in sixth gear
Had this issue a while ago after changing my valve cover gasket. At first I thought i overfilled the oil so I did an oil change. Car was solid for about a week then it started happening again. I'll occasionally get smoke while holding RPM's in traffic after an extended period of time. The smoke is blue(oil), and smells. Curious if the VGC isn't sealed properly? Could it need a walnut blasting? Also curious if it could be the crankcase breather hose on the backside of the valve cover, or the PCV. I broke crankcase breather in half and taped it up. New one is on the way. Praying it isn't the turbskis going out.

don't know mileage but it would be good to get all the crankcase ventilation sorted out.
After that, if it still does it, may want to take out the plugs and do a compression test.

Describe again when you see it, what speed you are at, if you are accelerating, and so on. Seeing smoke while at highway speeds isn't very common - airflow over the car and such if nothing else.

I changed the crankcase breather hose and it seems there's no longer blue smoke coming from the exhaust... Haven't been driving it that much due to business being fast and picking up multiple cars that I've been driving instead.
I did take it out last night and had stuff done to it. I've got some stuff to do today so I'll be driving it around and holding RPM's etc to see if the issue persists. Thank you! |

Have you removed the cats ? ie: Are you running catless down pipes ? IF so expect some smoke, especially on start up.
When you replaced the valve cover gasket... did you buy the entire plastic valve cover that comes with a new PCV and gasket and aluminium bolts. ? Dack
