Best Tune 1M?

I know there's countless threads but since they're spread out throughout a decade, was wondering what the consensus in 2022 is for the best tune for 1M?

Currently have IC, 200 cell downpipe, charge pipe and some custom tune I know nothing about

Am considering MHD or perhaps a custom wedge tune, but I'm pretty clueless on who's the best for this platform in 2022

Also, if anyone knows, what happens to 1M button with a tune?

Cheers,
Dave

Basically everyone is running MHD or JB4, or a combination of the two, on the N54 platform. I am running MHD stage 1+ OTS map w/IC, CP, and B58 coils/plugs; car pulls much harder, think I've seen boost hit 18psi. The M button still works, as long as you don't select the linear throttle option; it's extra spicy though.

Mine has had a Dinan stage 2 tune since I purchased new in 2011. Car now has 175,000 miles with no issues on original tune.

This is awesome!

What are some of the things/quirks/problems you've had in the 175,000 miles? We would love to hear about your ownership experience. Anything in particular to watch out for?

No issues to speak of. Turbos at 100,000 miles. Clutch at 120,000 miles. Water pumps every 60,000 miles. Walnut blast every 60,000 miles. Has been the most reliable car I have owned.

I’m on Dinan stage 3 - have IC , charge pipe , Akra mids to back. It’s not the fastest tune .. but it runs smooth like the original stock tune and has never given me any problems.

I have Dinan Stage 3 on my 135is, but I'm currently pursuing a stock 1M. My experience with that tune on the 135 is that it's a freaking beast. It's nearly impossible to put all that power to use on the 135 platform due to the open diff.

Did the DS3 tune on your 1M have the same "wow!" effect?

@NGEE. - I had a prior MHD custom tune that was super duper “wow” … so the DS3 felt marginally slower. What did make me go “wow” was the OEMness of the tune.. was quiet and silky smooth in delivery and I guess I had forgotten how smooth the OEM tune was. Made me sit back and think there’s much more than just the power.
I appreciate the Dinan for that. Also its been reliable and in the mornings, I no longer get glares from neighbours walking past on cold start …
Hope that helps !

MHD is still under active development, and recently I noticed it has a reduced volume cold start option now.
