Add HK Tweeters

Got myself a pair of Harman Kardon tweeters with covers. Since i don't have the HK system from factory, only the cheapest Professional system without any tweeters i'll guess i have to do some splicing to connect them.

Am i correct that the door speakers is 4 Ohm? I haven't found out the impedance for the tweeters so i'm wondering if it is better to connect the tweeters in serial or in parallell with the mid base?

IIRC 4Ω is correct. RealOEM shows the mids to be P/N 65139143232. The photos available show that that driver has the extra socket to plug the tweeter directly (parallel) into the mid, so hopefully no splicing. The tweeter should already have a filter cap.

Can you update after you do it? I would like to do something similar and would love to hear the basic run down after you tackle it. Tia.

Hi FredrikM, did you ever get those installed? I purchased a set of L7 speakers to replace my base system (will add aftermarket amps to drive the speakers), and am curious on the impedance of the individual speakers. Based on the documentation I've seen, the mids and highs are at 2 ohms, and connected in parallel, which means all the speakers are 4 ohms. I'm hoping someone can confirm.

Anyways, curious about how everything worked out.
