Great fish story
Leave the axle nut on and use a deadblow next time… maybe a little heat.

Not sure what is meant by fish story. I had a shop press them out after I tried that method 😑

The end of that axle is pretty well destroyed… you clearly left out some details for a better carnage story. I’ve not actually heard someone say they had to press an axle out before. I probably would’ve tried pulling the hub instead. Glad you got it fixed, but they definitely doubled the price on axles a while back.

Very close to start up, chasing a MRS ignition error that is blocking injectors

For those who were wondering about cooling here is the final solution. The M3 crash bar , oil cooler brackets , and M3 structure support are fused together. We drilled out the 4 rivets and then used the 1M structure , M3 cooler brackets and M3 CF crash bar! We were also able to retain the ducting channel for the air to extract out of the bottom Mporium plate :-)

well damn, that is looking pretty nice now that you are almost there. Good luck with the injector issues.

Any idea what the weight difference is between the 1M crash bar and the M3 CF bar?

The M3 bar drops right in?

Feels like there is maybe a couple pounds in savings, may weight tomorrow. The biggest win for me was the cooler , ducts, and horn mounts.

It fits fine minus the ducts as the M3 ducts are slightly narrower and wider than the 1M ducts. Hurts to dremel my CF ducts but must be done.

The best part about watching these builds is the brave moments when expensive parts are cut in the name of fitment

Think we are close. All cooling systems ready to go, lines bleed to validate M3 line merge was solid as it all had to be relocated.

Investigating a small sensor issue… I think 🤔. It seems I didn't tighten the oil filter pipes tight enough and saw a small drip but no other leaky bits.

Pardon the brake shield, hoping to get all alignment work done next week. They are going to hate me lol.

All small issues sorted. All modules in place and all the RPMs on tap!

What's the plan to mount the front bumper with the M3 crash bar? I couldn't get mine to fit with my swap.

Looks and sounds great!

It doesn't fit. You need to cut up the carbon unit, the weight savings is negligible, and the tow hook bung doesn't line up. I tried really hard, unsuccessfully, to get it to work.

From what I can tell is if we don't use the foam and trim the ducts it seems it will clear. Guess I'll find out soon enough 😂

For those who think you can't use the M3 crash bar, you can easily fit it minus a little trimming. Tow hook placement works just fine!
