Sitting high after strut install

I was very happy with the height and quality of the sport suspension for an DD until a pothole blew the LF strut. The mechanic replaced both front strut assemblies & now the car feels floaty around long turns and sits about 1.75 inches higher in the front than before. Did he install the regular suspension strut assembly by mistake?
