FRM3 error in bimercode - 2011 e82 128i

So I ordered a new set of Depo V2 headlights the other day. In preparation for installing them, I've been reading and researching on how to code the car to use the halos as DRLs.

After hooking Bimercode up to my 2011 128i, the tab called "Footwell Module", or by the proper module name FRM3_E89, will not open. On trying to load it, it says "critical error has been detected. Coding is not possible."
So I tried opening it up in Carista just to see if it would respond and it does, with all the DRL options and other features related to the FRM.

I've read horror stories about people attempting to code features on FRM3's and having the module totally fail on them, so I'm afraid to change anything.

Does anyone know anything about this issues? Am I safe to just go ahead and use Carista?
Is the critical error code I'm getting from Bimercode a sign of impending doom for the FRM3?
