The monster nor'easter that caused states of emergency in NJ and Lawn Guyland was a fizzle up here in the sticks. We received just a smidge over 1 inch of rain, and the peak wind gust today was only 14 MPH on my anemometer. There's still a band or two of rain showers lingering in the distance, but so far this storm has been a lot of nothing-burger.....

Supposed to get a decent storm Tuesday, putting snow in our local mountains and giving us 2 inches of rain, which is enough for me to get the pump set up in the back yard. While I like the rain and California needs it, we don't need any flooding, so don't get carried away Mother Nature.

My oldest daughter's fifth birthday was this past Friday, and she's been begging to go camping, do S'mores, the lot. It was perfect. We live in the sticks, so it was as simple as setting up the tent and all on the property. High of 69°F and low of 50°F without a cloud in the sky and the occasional breeze. She had an absolute blast and is still talking about it. Thanks Mama Nature!

Water started falling out of the sky REALLY loudly at 1:30 this morning.
I went out for a nap in my car during lunch, we had another downpour. No winks were had. Now we have bright sun and clearing winds.

First frost of the season this morning. But we'll make it to 60F later.

It looks like we have just passed peak color here, and the weekend's nor'easter didn't strip the leaves off of trees in our area.....

Got some ridiculously orange trees at the office driveway. I'll try to post some pics with the car later on the way out.
Slightly more brown this year due to dry summer. Edit: added pic Last edited by freakystyly; 10-15-2025 at 05:23 PM.. |

Beautiful, clear, sunny day today, 2nd day after the big storm. Love the weather after a rain storm. Current temp is 73°F with the high forecasted at 76. Fall... my favorite season.

Proper fall beginning tomorrow. It was fall-ish this week, but we had a three day warm up…

Finally some rain. After months of drought, we're getting some decent rainfall this weekend. Won't be enough to reverse the drought, but it'll help the grass and bushes.
