I mean I understand why, usually the concepts have some sort of design elements that may be too expensive for regular production, or they have larger wheels and a better stance that wouldn't work in every country, etc, etc.

...or sometimes they completely mess up the proportions of the concept when going to production. Case in point, the Toyota FT-1 (awesome looking) to the Supra (looks like a turd pile).

We have a 2022 QX80 family hauler and absolutely love it, V8 engine, simple and effective, cheap to maintain, built like a tank, super reliable. Used for long east coast trips up and down I95. Don’t care about the criticism it’s “old.”

It’s a good thing to have options, I’m rooting for Nissan to stick around and make some more interesting cars.
Yes. Hang around to build the R-36 then close the doors. R-36 will most likely be a game changer, just as the R-35 was!!!!!! Come Nissan!!! You owe us

True, but at least concepts are actual built vehicles (some drive some don't). This is just an AI rendering...not even an artist rendering. I love it, but it's far from being anything a manufacturer had their official stamp on.

I don't think it takes much to be better than the Z.

A low bar for success but Nissan/Infiniti seem to be aiming for success as a dud factory.

The Z is a good car let down by pricing and when it was released. The pricing issue has kinda gone away, but now the reality is, 400hp ain't much anymore, and the market for 2 seaters is brutal. If you can afford a 2 seater, odds are you can afford a C8 with 500hp for not much more, or you'll buy a Mustang with 500hp.for the same or less money as the Z.

If economic conditions were the same as they were in the early to mid 2000s, where young guys could get cheap financing and afford a car like this and make their rent withpit an awesome career job, the Z would be a smash hit. It really hits a lot of boxes people want. It looks good, sounds good, is pretty quick, is pretty comfortable, and has decent day to day practicality. But reality is the JDM scene is all but dead, and if you're a young guy with a decent job enough to buy something like this, you're likely to just go with a mustang or C8 or something even cooler used.

There's nothing inherently bad about the Z. It's just a victim of the times, like TV commercials with hot girls in them.

Agreed. There's nothing wrong with the Z right now. Unfortunately it's a product that just isn't as popular as it once was. Sign of the times...

Here's a really unpopular opinion.

In a few years, this generation of Z will be super collectible and worth big bucks. It has all the makings of it, it's a "last of its kind" product, launched into terrible marketplace conditions, doesn't have great sales volume, and is likely to not be replaced, at least not with anything similar and not any time soon.

It is the MKIV Supra Turbo of today. Too expensive for what you get, not that impressive in stock form, and a sales flop. Toyota sold about 7700 MKIV Supras in the US over 5 years, Nissan is at about 5600 Zs in basically 3 years.

Oh I know, in this day and age more and more manufacturer concepts are just renderings (as it keeps costs down, and there are less auto shows now).

We will see more and more AI images popping up too as time goes on. Most are terrible, but sometimes you get an amazing one like this Infiniti.

Ha ha ha ha!!!! If you going to make a statement like that, it’s the next Supra. You better be buying 50 of them and storing them in a good spot. This way in 20 years you can sell them all for 120,000
A piece Ain’t no way these ugly Z cars will be worth dick at anytime in their lifecycle. I would venture to say , if you polled most car people, they would still pick a 91-94 300ZX turbo over this junk they are slinging now?!? T-Tops baby

We also have one. Recently I got a 24' Escalade as well. That has taken over the QX80 but it has run strong for 3-4 years now.
