I think Audi, Mercedes, and Lexus are viable alternatives to BMW in many lineups.
Audi RS lineup is pretty compelling, if one is willing to overlook the dullness of AWD (some folks claim it's an advantage).
RS3, for example, is what 3-series should be. Alas, G20 is now a luxo-boat, and G80 is a family pigster. RS3 is ~350lbs lighter than G80, which is hilarious.

Alas, RS3 hasn't been touched by the new design "language", so there is that benefit.

I think Audi, Mercedes, and Lexus are viable alternatives to BMW in many lineups.
Audi RS lineup is pretty compelling, if one is willing to overlook the dullness of AWD (some folks claim it's an advantage).
RS3, for example, is what 3-series should be. Alas, G20 is now a luxo-boat, and G80 is a family pigster. RS3 is ~350lbs lighter than G80, which is hilarious.

Alas, RS3 hasn't been touched by the new design "language", so there is that benefit.

The RS3 is also FWD based so there's that. Not exactly what a 3 Series should ever have underpinning it. There size I agree with you on.

But I'm genuinely shocked there isn't a 46" sonic ordering menu sweeping across the dash from one side of the car to the other bcuz minimalism.
