It's raspier and louder because of the headers pretty much. Adding the resonator took away a lot of rasp and volume.

I have not. I didn't go for the golf tee mod because I wanted different exhaust tips too. I really miss the look of the awesome chrome tips the PE had.

Finally got around to installing the 135i exhaust and the verdict is...I like it, but not as much as the Performance Exhaust. I'm glad that the 128i has a soundtrack again and the black chrome tips look good.

Thanks again to everyone who suggested it.

So PE and OEM catted manifold sounds better than AA header & 135i muffler?

In my opinion, yeah. I loved the pops and burbles of the PE. The exhaust note sounded more "race oriented". It even fooled some guy on the street to think that my car was a 1M.

My friends who heard my previous setup also agree with me. For the 135i muffler, it just sounds like a louder version of the 128i with a single pop on decel. It's definitely better than the 128i muffler, but I wasn't too impressed by it. Note that I still have my stock resonator on.
