At least according to Realoem, E70 X5, E83 X3, E81 130i, E82 125i and E82 128i all use 13537531634 regardless of whether the car is a European or US market vehicle. Take Realoem with a grain of salt, though. They also show the 11427525333 heat exchanger for the oil system on my car, which it clearly does not have. (Looks to be an easy retrofit...)

Hmm, if I recall I think that heat exchanger can be retrofitted instead with a n54 oil cooler connection

The E70 uses the same cylinder head, valves, cams, actuators, injectors, pistons, and a DISA manifold. It has different exhaust manifolds and exhaust, and different intake airbox stuff (is the resonator for sound or flow..?).

272 HP with the cats.

Seems like DISA with a tune should yield great numbers without the need for headers, etc. unless BMW used magic intake and exhaust pipes on the X5. Do companies like Evolve do any kind of reverse engineering of the factory tunes? Would the stock X5 state of tune work in a 128i?

What with the headers and such maybe TheSt|G IS pushing close to 300 HP at the crank. The deeper I dig, the more I'm starting to believe
Stop working 12 hour days! It's killing me!

I would also think that the N51 would respond phenomenally to a tune, despite air pumps, secondary cats, a slightly lower compression ratio and only 91 octane (in California).
"We are not keen on developing new engines and cars at the same time," says vice president of powertrain development Klaus Borgmann. "It was not easy to do both the new V-8 and the 7-series simultaneously. But we have the new six-speed gearboxes, and we will have a new six-in-line in less than two years. With Valvetronic and more horsepower, it definitely will be a step forward." We'd venture that in 3.0-liter guise, the new engine would produce upward of 275 horsepower.

n51 is abt 3-5 whp less then n52 w same setup. but all emission related parts (hoses, fuel pump, etc) are covered for 10yr 130k miles i believe.

tune on n51 are like turning hidden vtec on, no need going through hassle of getting the disa.

Hey guys, first post but just wanted to add and maybe help a little.

So I drive a 125i. Imported from Germany to the Netherlands. Did a little research on the engine. There are some german tuners offering an upgrade which they call: entdrosseln. This actually means, removing the limiter.

If I am correct the only difference between the US spec engine and the Euro N52 engine in the E82/E88 is the intake manifold and the factory tune.

Anyway, I had mine tuned with only a remapping of the chip.

The figure on the background is horsepower at the wheels. I have a steptronic transmission.

Hope this helps.

welcome @pothole yeah typically (and mind you won't have to search far at all) the manifold and the tune is where the power comes from our cars lol....intake exhaust don't really do to much except throttle response and sounds

Curious to see what yours does! I have to admit I am running on 95 octane as it is the poorest quality we get in Holland.

Different octane rating system. Your 98 octane is the same as our 93 octane.

Thank you sir, didn't know that. Well I guess (if the HP rating system is the same lol) 228 at the wheels is not too shabby.

N52. At least that is what I think.

Just to clarify: All Euro delivered 125's reach around 265hp after a chip. It's what tuners offer over here.

Holland:

Germany:

And this last website is discussing the disa manifold with tune reaching 300hp:

Good question, doesn't say anything on the website. Seems kinda weird if you think about it. Maybe scaled wrong or just plain talking bullshit.

Guys I was looking for a place to post this (should we open a central data bank topic with all interesting 128/125 links?)

Anyway,

For those of you who want to reconsile differences between 125/128/130/325/330 engines maybe this is interesting for you and helping you to reach the 272 or even up goal.

http://www.leebmann24.de/bmw-ersatzt...id=50761&hg=11

Yes its German but should speak for itself. You can find all euro parts for your car/engine here. Good website. (need any help, let me know!)
