2011 SCCA TireRack Solo Nationals

Last week I competed in my first SCCA Solo National Championships. It was A LOT of fun, even though I drove like poo... The courses were some of the most challenging I have ever seen (and I have driven Nationals courses before since my home site is the nationals site we usually have a local event featuring the previous years courses). I was the only 135i competing and 1 of only 2 BMWs running in STU, the other was a '95 M3. I finished in 31st place... which was the highest BMW finish in STU. I could've done better, but made some mistakes which cost a bunch of time on what would've been much faster runs.

I will definitely be trying again next year. Hopefully I will drive better then.

And the East Course... I messed up the finish and was very timid on the high speed sweeper coming into the finish, after I nearly spun on the previous run... Think I could've have easily had a time 3-4 seconds faster on this course.

Great pictures. I saw your car in grid. Looks nice. What are the next planned mods?

Don't really have anything planned yet. Maybe another race seat and smaller battery to add some lightness. Also on the list is a downpipe with high flow cat and a tune.

Looks great. It's nice to have a BMW being campaigned and a 1 series too!

The car definitely looks great and thanks for posting the footage.

Looks like a hell of a fun/long course too, the SCCA Cen FL region events I go to are usually in the high 40's low 50's.
