Smart man, I just read about harbor freight recalling jackstands. I have several different pairs but only one pair from harbor freight. And they are the recalled model number. To think I pulled my subframe and turbos out with those holding my car up scares the hell out of me. Luckily I decided to go to 6ton so I could get it up higher for the rest of the turbo install.
So anyone who has harbor freight jackstands the recalled models are 56371, 61196, and 61197. Be careful!!!! |

Trying to get Evap system monitor to get ready for emissions after replacing the battery. Tried the drive cycle twice, couple cold start idles, decelerating etc... fresh gas is a little over half tank. Anyone got tips or tricks to get this to ready stage? All the other systems are ready.

That sucks. Its something that should never have to be recalled!! Peoples lives depend on those things.. Got mine in my car. There are no harbor freights near me but eventually ill be near one to get them replaced

Yeah, I just did the M3 master with the reservoir it came with. Definitely worth it if you have F30 or 135i brakes.

Gotta love a Minichamps 1:18 scale! The one I've got has the same BSM color as my 1er, and looks great on the shelf! Can't wait to see how you refinish yours!
It's been an expensive month for mine- 1er and X1... The Wife liked my new headlights so much we picked up a set for the her X1 also. Ya know, I'm impressed by how much less the X1 base halogen lights cost when compared to the 135 active xenon's.... ((sigh)) I mean, seriously, my headlights cost more than the combined cost of The Wife's headlights /and suspension/.... Add in a suspension refresh and replacing the valve cover for the X1, along with a new VCG for the 1er and we have a month with over 3K in parts....

Finished up installing a 3.73 differential and PowerFlex differential bushings. Totally worth rolling around under the car for a few hours imo.
Next up will be PowerFlex rear subframe inserts. |

The 1'er is quite a heavy chassis and the 128i doesn't make that much in the way of power. Power:weight is probably pretty close. And then there's the shitty CD of the 1'er...

Custom seat covers are on. Picking up the car from body and upholstery tomorrow sometime.
Upholsterer said leather was so thick they had to pry the covers on once they repaired and thickened the seat bolster and padding . Downside was they couldn't do the perforated inserts like I wanted since I required they retrofit the heating element. Note: the photo is with fresh leather, covers still need some fine tuning install wise and after that the wrinkling/bunching goes away once they've gone through a few heating/cooling cycles. TLDR; ... WE NOW HAVE REPLACEMENT LEATHER SPORT SEAT COVERS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE IN NAPA+ LEATHER QUALITY LIKE THE M3.

There isn't a thread for it. I have asked for public purchase contact info and pricing. I recall the covers will be somewhere in the $2200-2500 ballpark if made the way mine were. Hope to have info for you guys later today and will ask Dack to get us a sticky post for it.

3 weeks and my subframe is finally put in...
Between my insurance paying for the subframe... Getting the subframe... And then finally getting it put in and picked up today... I finally have my car back! Only... To go to the alignment shop for a drop off... They are about a week behind in work... Sooooooooo, I guess I'll have it back next week! My daily Toyota with 230,000 miles on it is pulling all duty, she's getting close to retirement! |

Just a few quick snaps while I was buttoning up. Dropped the car about .25” from MSport, added Dinan camber plates and some spacers to fit gets me to this. Super happy with it and I’m sure it’ll settle in more.

Saw this dude and a bunch of his buddies absolutely ripping up this road (in a bad way) when I was coming down. It was sketchy as hell. Got home and saw this on my Facebook feed. Not even remotely shocked.

Hope the driver is ok. Used to love the look of those Zs back in the day. Owned a Supra Turbo at the time so the Z was my nemesis. Looking forward to seeing the new Z that hasn't really been revealed yet. My wife has owned three Zs, and is really looking forward to the introduction of this new one. I'm pretty sure she will be buying one. Her current Z is a 2015 in Pearl White. New Z thread: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1724902 Then, or course, there's the new Supra: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show....php?t=1635426 Hmmm, new Z, new Supra, new Z, new Supra... lol Personally, I'm happy with my veedub. |
