funny smell from car

my car is modified. since my modifications, quite often i notice that in 3rd gear the car revs and seems like all the power is not going to the rear wheels. when this happens, it leaves a funny smell from the bonnet of the car, smells like rubber is burning. it does not throw any codes. could this be the clutch? any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a clutch that is slipping...

How about you give us an idea of what mods you have done...

...and you did not even suspect that it should be the (assuming still OE) clutch? Many parts of your car have not been designed for that kind of power, clutch being among the most obvious.

I advise you to have a chat with someone like Harold from HP Autowerks regarding what else you should mod in the car to cope with this new power and make it more driveable and enjoyable.
