Forum fellow "Mr Kleen" knows how to code itineraries, because he made the ones I imported into my SATNAV and they work.

Some Guided Tours are pre-programmed: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=899333

BMW's Route Planner: https://www.bmw-routes.com/de/en/plan-routes/index.jsp

I have a US Spec car but had it coded to allow me to import navi files. The route planner uses Google maps but has a slightly clunky interface. I've also been warned about other odd behaviors by another 1addict.com member:

Quote:
If you forced the route to take certain roads while using the route planner be careful while using the routes in car. If you skip forward and bypass a waypoint the NAV will disregard any fixed routes and revert to the shortest or quickest route between points.

128i Convertible - Awesome but no USB

Greetings-

I have a 2010 128i Convertible...really love it. It has the BMW Professional audio with CD, but no iDrive and no USB port in the glove box. It DOES have bluetooth capability for phone calls only. So, my two questions are...

1) Is there a software/firmware upgrade to enable bluetooth tunes as well as phone calls

2) Is there a kit or mod that can add a USB to the existing stereo as is?

In my last car, I had a huge library of tunes on a small USB button-size drive. I really miss that!

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Do you have a USB port in/under the center armrest ? There should be one there along with an AUX 3.5mm audio jack. But this was an option... 6FL.

BMW does make a USB retrofit kit. But I don't know of anyone how has installed one.

IF you only have the 3.5mm audio(AUX) plug under the armrest you should be able to use this blue tooth device... Bovee makes many BT devices for cars.

Dackel - Thanks for the link to the USB kit. No, there is no USB connector anywhere in the car. I have only an AUX jack and lighter/power socket under the armrest. The car does have a factory-installed BMW Professional head unit, so I am puzzled that they didn't put in the USB connector.
