2008 135i at 94k miles, red service light on startup.. what to service?

Bought the car with 92000, Ive seen the yellow lift icon, but now on startup it just shows service in red. I’m assuming this is a normal scheduled maintenance interval... but what is it really recommending I have checked out? Is it more for an inspection or? It also shows like 2/17 -2200 mls... so I’m assuming I’m that many miles “overdue”

You can get the basic information for Service Requirements by using the toggle buttons on the turn indicator lever.

I'm pretty sure he's asking what needs to be done for the service.

I'll tell you what everyone else will tell you: consult Mike Miller's Maintenance Schedule: https://redirect.viglink.com/?format...2520v03.13.pdf

That will depend on what the computer thinks has been done. Even an oil change needs to be added to the computer each time it's done, or you will get the service indicator red alert. Since he bought the car at 92,000 miles, he probably doesn't have the service records.

The best way is to take it to a dealer, and have them read the fob. That combined with a visual inspection may indicate gasket, fluid leaks or rubber component deteriation.

Yeah I’ll probably just have to take them in to see, hopefully no charge just to check...
