Bimmerfest 1M impressions BSM and VO
I didnt see a white one there, but I saw one black one (guessing WildBill's) and a VO one there which was a factory car.
I am not a fan of black cars and dont think I will ever own one but the black car was absolutely AMAZING. It has a presence and ANY regular 1 series next to it will look puny. The car is bulging and wide and just has a great stance. There is no doubt when you see it that its unique or an M. No one will ever confuse it with a regular 1 series. I cant express in words how great the car looks and none of the pictures I have seen online or in magazines do it justice. All the BSM owners will be pleased when their cars arrive. The VO wasnt as impressive. Today was overcast and I know it was the worst conditions for the color. I ordered VO and wont change my order. I assume the shade/hue I saw today was the worst the car will ever look and in So Cal we have very few overcast/gloomy days. I do have 2 pics I will attach, but let me say the colors in the pics are nowhere near the color I was observing in person. It was more copperish/almost borderline brownish. It wasnt bad at all, but just not what I prefer in an orange car. UT fans will be very pleased. Like I said, Im assuming what I saw was the color at its worst and I can live with that shade, especially since most days it will be brighter. I did notice it was a white car that had been repainted VO, the inside of the hood and trunk was white (maybe it was just primer). The VO car just didnt look as wide and flared as the BSM car, which is odd since black usually hides everything. Last edited by Papethova; 05-14-2011 at 04:14 PM.. |

I just saw a BSM 1M in person and it truly looks great...if it wasn't for the way it hides the details I would have ordered black, but VO is it for me!

Sorry forgot the pics (the care is nowhere near as red as it shows here). There was NO hint of red in person.

Sorry guys, you may put down higher numbers or have a faster, quicker, or better performing car (MAYBE) but it just isnt the same. Seeing the car you realize its apples and oranges. I wouldnt be surprised if more 135 owners upgrade to an M once seeing the car in person. It really is something different. |

One more thing... as I stood there it was amazing how many people walked by realizing it was an M but not having any idea it existed. Many shocked and surprised passerbys.

Maybe close to 400hp with just a good JB3? Thanks for posting Papethova. The VO is beautiful even without the sunlight |

I'd thought that Black was the best color for this car, but seeing VO in person was huge for me...... It epitomizes what BMW is trying to do with this car, which is get back to its roots..... for some reason, I always think of an inca tii as what got me started on BMW, and this car will do the same for many people.
If I were to buy one, it would be VO for sure based on what I saw today..... Oh yeah, one of the spokespeeps told me that they'll be making the 1M next year too.... anyone else hear that? |

I've had the VO for almost a week and it's a really beautiful color. I was in Miami over the weekend and got lots of compliments. AW and BSM look great as well but the VO is truly a unique beauty.

I went fully expecting to see a few whites and no orange or black, turned out the other way around. |

That was our BSM 1M parked in the paved lot next to the entrance gate, and we didn't see the white cars either. Just blind I guess.
