Another racing seat coding thread....
So I finally pulled the trigger and ordered racing seats and installed trackdoorcards. I got the passenger seat out and followed the directions in this thread: https://www.1addicts.com/forums/show...86&postcount=1
Basically Jake says disable these: • Seat Mat Sensor (OC3_1) • Driver Seat Position Sensor (SPSF_1_CD) • Left-Side Airbag (SIDEBAG_LINKS_1) • Passenger Seat Position Sensor (SPSBF_1) • Right-Side Airbag (SIDEBAG_RECHTS_1) but I still get the airbag light. I set everything back to factory and started disabling stuff one at a time. I then read another thread where you have to disable while still hooked up, then disconnect, so I did that, but even when leaving the passenger seat position sensor hooked up, disabling in Protool, finalizing, turning off ignition, then disconnecting the wires, it still gives me the "Left side seat position" code. I've got to be missing something simple here. Request help from all of those who have already tread this path...TIA!

I don't think I'll be much help, I currently only have a race seat in place of my driver seat but I went with the: disconnect everything and then code off the specific things that pop up with errors, and it worked for me.
I used the brey krause seat mount so I kept the factory belt receiver and position sensor, I think I only had to code out the driver side airbag, but I'll double check that. Edit - yeah position sensor still installed, also I used protool to code off the side airbag. I think the position sensor is critical for the airbags because they use that to know which ones to fire in an accident. Since you aren't disabling all the airbags it might still cause issues because the front airbags are looking for that input.

I wish I remembered exactly how but there is a handshake that needs to happen in a specific order. I think the code while connected pertains to the ABG module itself.
I think you need to unplug the seats, then code everything off. If the ABG sees the seats are still there it'll turn the options back on. |

I used the below link when I was having seat belt issues. I'd read the whole thing, but IIRC, the final answers are on pg. 3 (been a while since I read through it...), and protools does a fine job of it

Will check my ProTool info when I get home but there definitely more than the 5 options you coded out to get rid of the warning lights. I think it's closer to 10.
One of them is the Airbag Telltale Lamp (something like this) At this point I've ripped everything out of my interior (including the ABG module) Haven't had any lights since coding everything out. (2+ years) You can send me a PM if you'd like. Once you start ripping other stuff out of the car you really cant stop. Last edited by Ab28; 04-06-2023 at 09:28 AM.. |

[QUOTE=fe1rx;30009309]Driver Seatbelt Tensioner GURTSTRAFFER_FAHRER_2
Passenger Seatbelt Tensioner GURTSTRAFFER_BEIFAHRER_2 I’ve heard the purpose of these is to prevent you from flying into the airbag in a frontal collision (?). For the weight savings isn’t it worth just keeping them with the bucket seat and not deactivating ? |

If you were still using the three points I could see leaving this on but I think it's going to give you airbag light if anything seat related is active. |

Thx, All. Knew I'd get some good advice from the collective here. Once the second seat comes in, I will do both at the same time so that I don't have to keep left/right sorted and can just code out and disconnect everything at once. If I run into roadblocks I'll be back.

Also, that's an odd choice if you have fixed back seats. I don't suspect inherently unsafe but, odd. |
