Sydney roads/highways - lowered friendly?

Hey guys!

Was just wondering if anyone could give me some insight on how lowered friendly are Sydney roads. Mainly highways such as M5 and roads in the city.

I am looking to eventually have my car lowered slightly, maybe 10-20mm? Also, I'll probably get a front lip as well, one like the 3DDesign one, will I have any problems? Just don't want to invest so much in my car to get the parts scratched or worse.

Thanks!

Loving my 125i so far!

I'm about to get my car lowered 20mm, so if you're not in a rush I could probably tell you soon enough. Don't think it'd present a problem though, we don't need to ford rivers or anything

@Jeef: Won't be lowering anytime soon so hearing feedback will be awesome.

@ianf: What if you have the m sports kit with the m sport suspension? Is it the same as 135i?

I just don't want to chip or crack my lip going over speed bumps..

Lowered on V2's with a carbon lip. No issues here just take it easy over bumps and driveways.

20mm should be no problem. any more and then be careful of multi storey car parks and speed humps. Check your insurance too, as they get nervous about it, especially over 25mm. I lowered my e36 M3 by 50mm for the track and it was basically undriveable on anything other than main roads.

Hmm, how much do lips usually add to the height? 3cm? Would that mean I shouldn't lower it if I'm thinking of a lip?

Anything lower than standard M sport and you run into the curb with front on parking so be mindful. 1 serie's shorter wheelbase means you can leave it well short of the curb anyway.
Do any suppliers offer a lift option such as fitted to Ferrari, Lambo, Nissan GTR, Porshe RS etc?

Even with standard 135 suspension I have issues with front on parking and some driveways. 'Contemplating fitting V2s but won't be lowering much more than 10mm I fear. How well do your V2s ride Vinney? Lift option would be awesome but would just add more weight and complexity.

Ah that kinda sucks. Means getting a lip plus a lower will be just a hassle =/ But the 1er lowered looks so mean, I love it so much but I also love the end.cc lip.. Sigh. If I do both I'll probably have avoid driving anywhere haha

I'm happy I went with the V2's coilovers instead of a shock/spring combo. It's day and night in handling, car feels a lot tighter and firmer. I've dialled my settings 1 setting firmer than the recommended setup so I've sacrificed some comfort but it feels good for me, I've dialled out most of the understeer. There's 18 clicks to choose from so there is a setting for everyone.
