I also removed mine today. I heated the numbers up with a hairdryer, one at a time, until they were actually hot to the touch. Took some dental floss and pulled, and they came off. Most of the adhesive came right off with the letters. What was left easily "rolled" off with my finger.

There was slight residual left over. I used Megs paint cleaner to remove it.

Best to do it early in the life of the car. Debadged my mother's '99 Mercedes and the paint fade was pretty obvious, even on a black, garaged car. So now if ever!

Hey,
Just debadged my 128. Looks so much better imho.
Think it really makes the back look cleaner and more classic.
...btw, I have had my 1er for about 1 year b4 debadging, no outline from oxidation, looks great. I do however garage my 1 so its out of the sun/weather most of the time.

Here in the UK 'badge delete' is a factory no-cost option. Don't you guys have that choice?

Of course, we don't have any options that are logical like that......

I picked my car up in Munich in 8/08. I immediately debadged the car before our tour around France. When the car arrived at the dealer in 11/08.... the 135i was REINSTALLED! I assume it was done at the prep center.

So now I have two sets of badging.

maybe they thought the factory forget to install them in the first place?

Adhesive remover is the best solution. You can get them on the market or search online. Try this source https://www.prohairlabs.com/, I hope it helps.
