I have commited the Ultimate Sin!
I washed my car with a pressure washer at a public car wash My car was covered in dirt and salt and I dont have access to proper car washing equipment... but corona was $10 off today so :drinking: maybe it will help me forget about it

Less damage would come from the pressure washer than the salt build up, I'm sure. I'd do the same.

Apart from the nasty wax stripping shampoo in some of these garage pressure washer places, I can't see any harm. |

You might get away with it if you just keep your distance or if you can dial down the pressure. Still, you can/should bring your own mitts and towels.

....glad you brought this up!
A lot of "no brush" car washes have been popping up here. They have guys with sponges and buckets "hand" washing the car instead of those turning brushes. Ya think these types of car washes are less invasive? Would you let them clean your 1er? |

The problem with the places that do it with buckets and mits and such is you don't know how many cars they do before washing their stuff off. That's my concern with that.
I'd been washing my car by hand on a regular basis, but now that it's turning cooler I'll be using a brushless automatic car wash near my house. I don't like having my hands soaking in freezing water. If I can find someone in the area with a good rep that does it by hand I'll do that. But until it warms up I'll be doing it the lazy way. How do you guys handle washing the car by hand when it's cold? |
