My ship is finally in Australia

For the last month, I've been anxiously tracking the Fidelio bringing my 135i over from Germany. Then on Saturday I saw her live for the first time via the Fremantle Ports webcam. I fluked it and watched the entire time as Fidelio entered the harbour and then docked at the berth. Here's some photos of the happy occasion. She has left Fremantle now and is expected in Port Kembla on Friday 17th October.

Thanks guys. I've definitely got a full calendar planned ... but not so full that I'll miss watching the Fidelio come into Port Kembla. My office is only a few minutes walk from the port!

Guran, the hard part will be seeing it arrive at Port K then leaving it till it gets freighted to Sydney then trucked back to Dwyers then wait till they pre del it.

I know how you feel, patience grasshopper, good things come to those with patience (crap).

The bang you have the car.

This weekend should help a little though, all those 1's driving round in convoy and some at your place. Lots of eye candy and I'd be betting a few test drives :wink: from the boys.

Thanks guys. It's really starting to get exciting now. I'm hoping to catch the Fidelio on the Port Melbourne webcams tomorrow. Not sure of the arrival time because it's not yet listed on the expected arrivals page. No surprise there -- the WW ships seem to show up quite late on those rosters.

Well I was asleep last night when the Fidelio arrived at Port Melbourne so I missed the webcam. Probably wouldn't have seen much anyway. And it's a bugger that there's no webcam covering Webb Dock where the cars are unloaded. The Fidelio is due to leave at 4pm this afternoon so I'll try to catch her as she goes past Point Lonsdale.

The expected arrival time at Port Kembla is a rather anti-social 5am on Friday

! Looks like I'm starting work very early that day! :biggrin:

Sheesh! Just checked the Port Melbourne and Port Kembla websites and it looks like the Fidelio is now due to leave Melbourne at 7pm tonight, and arrive at Port Kembla at 1am Saturday morning.

I HOPE the 1am arrival time is wrong ... I'm keen to see it come into the harbour, but not THAT keen!

Thankfully the Fidelio arrived at Port Kembla at a more respectable time of 5:30am yesterday morning, rather than 1am as previously indicated. I was there from 5am onwards and took lots of photos! It was pretty dark to start with, but started to brighten up as the ship got closer to the berth. I must be crazy!

Now the crazy part begins. After being almost close enough to touch the Fidelio, my car gets loaded on a truck and taken up to Sydney for processing before getting back on a truck and brought back to Wollongong! Brilliantly wasteful logistics there. :iono: With a bit of luck I might have the car by Friday, although I suspect early next week is more likely.

Yeh, that's not possible anymore. Not since they introduced all the hi-tech security gates way back near the main road. You can't even get near the fenced off area anymore.
