Noice! Joe, I too was thinking about an M3, but having driven both now at EC I don't see the point from a performance view, especially if you have the JB3 (given the difference in price). However I do looooove the sound of the v8! Also the double clutch blip on down change was awesome!

The creator of the video, oncars.com,
http://www.oncars.com/video/361/BMW-...upe-Quick-Test seems to me to be a pretty good site with some HQ videos available... worth a look IMO. |

Have been waiting on the dealer to organise a test drive of the DCT M3..
I mate of mine just picked his up last week after replacing his 6SM M3 coupe with 10K km's for the DCT M3. Hopefully will drive his car early in the week and make my mind up..I too love love the roar of the V8 engine Duncan. |

I was thinking about an M3 before they change the engine in the next model (rumours at this point), but not sure if the performance difference is worth it. Also the M3 is quite a 'large' car dimensionally and I would like to stick with something more compact. The new Z4 looks promising. One of the problems I have with it though, is the lack of climate control (apparently) and the fact they use the same N54 engine as in our 135s, same output, sound etc... which could be a little boring.

I actually prefer the more roomier M3. Its not so much the difference in performance in the M3 if any, its still a ///M. |

One thing I would say is that the M3 doesn't feel as special as my 135. I wonder if I'd bother garaging it every night like I do the 1er; maybe its the 'cute' dimensions of the 1?

Anyone noticed the lack of activity in the Australia forum in M3Post? Joe, if you jump ship you'll not be allowed back!

Not sure what he is asking for it but you could always upgrade to the rev 2 later and resell the rev 1. If you pull the trigger and get a hold of the unit before Wednesday I can put it into your car there and then for you, only takes about 10 to 20mins. |

You can do it! It is great being able to sit on the side lines and listen to the "the 1 is better/faster/cheaper than the M" .... "the M is better/faster/bigger..etc etc than the 1" stuff, heheheh

DCT is a no brainer, just wait and see when you drive it! That's me coming from a manual or nothing background!
