Shirt makes me look like a slob...Help!!!

One more thing...

Seems to me that my shirts, when I tuck them in, go well past my belt line. The necks fit, the sleeves fit...just too much shirt!!!

Yes you can have them tailored after. I am 5'11" medium build as well. You can only tailor so much though. If you have huge armholes from a shirt that doesn't fit or shoulders too large it may not be worth the cost to fix it. If it is just a simple length change or slimming the sides that is no problem.

Dress shirts are typically longer for tucking anyways. I've found more often that the slimmer fitting shirts are shorter. I like mine shorter because I often wear them untucked with jeans or then also like to tuck with dress pants.

Another option which may be great for you is to use made to measure shirts. Most are hundreds of dollars but decent and reasonably priced ones include Jantzen Tailors in china (they are very good for rediculously low prices) http://www.jantzentailor.com/index.html and if you want to stay stateside a cheap one is to use Land's End and their online custom clothing http://www.landsend.com/cd/fp/prod/0...79037762116980 I know a lot of people that have ordered from them and received good results. With these systems you choose every detail of your shirts from the measurement of the neck, back, sides, sleeves, to the button types, collars, cuffs, etc. Many fabrics too.

Geeslice had some great advice. After reading your comments, I'm 99% sure it's going to come down to the fabric and quality of your shirts that is causing you this distress. Like gscone said, try a Thomas Pink shirt. Go in and get measured, they are very attentive and can offer advice if you tell them what your issues are. Nowadays, I pretty much only like the big three Jermyn Street shirt makers (Charles Tyrwhitt, Thomas Pink, Turnbull & Asser), and luckily for you all of these great names can be easily found in Manhattan. Get one of those shirts, and you'll immediately notice the quality of the fabric. Wear it for a day to see if you have the same wrinkling and displacement problems. I think you'll have it solved. I wouldn't worry about tailoring unless you're still having problems.

I like this idea. I'm going to give Pink a trial run. Plus, I think my fiance will thank you(even if my wallet doesn't)

Pink has twice annual sales. They had their winter sale January... and they have the other sale in the Summer. You can get really great shirts at those times for around half off, or about $59.00 at the end of the sales session.

I actually have shopped at today's man, and have not had any issues with their clothing. It just depends on how much you are willing to spend.

I would suggest going to a custom tailor. They can do wonders with any body type!

Some pants have a rubberised/rough strip on the inside which grips the shirt, perhaps these will help.

You definitely sound like you need to take all your shirts to a tailor though and get them fitted... this will help tremendously. I have the same problem, and it is annoying.

I would look at brooks brothers and their wrinkle resistant shirts. They are very comfy, it is called their "slim fit" but it really isn't slim at all. I have worn them all day, not wrinkled or anything and tucked well into my pants. I would really check them out if I were you. You can go to other stores, but brooks brother has been making their stuff for a long time. My dad has worn their stuff for 20+ years and that is all he will wear.

Had a few Shirts tailored and they look great. No more blousing, no more huge arms. I have a tailor coming over tomorrow that is going to make me 10 shirts from scratch.

Try a shirt garter - sounds gay but it will keep your shirt tucked in. Also, try something a little more slim fitting. Good brands to check out would be BR, Thomas Pink, Brooks Brothers, Ben Sherman.

I used to have this problem also. Then I discovered Luxury Fit shirts at Brooks Brothers. They are cut with less fabric around the midsection, so there isn't as much to start poofing out the back. I haven't had the problem once since switching to those shirts. Now I don't buy anything else.
