No more US 1M Allocations - Dealer Confirmed

A few weeks ago my CA told me that BMW released a bulletin stating that they would not be producing any 1Ms for the U.S. after October 2011. He said the reason was that any VIN issued after October 31, 2011 could only be for a 2012 model, and since there will be no 2012 1Ms for the U.S., BMW cannot assign VINs to U.S.-bound 1Ms after that date.

Based on this thread, it now appears that BMW has already assigned all of its production spots for October, so it is highly unlikely that any more production numbers will be issued for the U.S.

So basically if you live in the U.S. and don't have a production number yet, your order will most likely be canceled by BMW. However, I wouldn't give up hope yet. I'd wait until the end of October before canceling your order in case someone ahead of you gives up their production spot.

Stopped checking this forum like 4 months ago to avoid self torture and ultimately requested my deposit back from one of the two dealers I had put deposits down.then Sunday afternoon I get a call from my CA to let me know he's got my production number (October production)....

Needless to say he made my week

Agreed. But then again if BMW had done that the E9X M3 would have made even less sales.

I am happy about production ending now because it means it won't be long until either the new Z4M and/or a final gasp package on the E92 M3 is announced!
