N55 Cut Front Bumper Grill

Has anyone cut the 2011+ N55 stock front bumper grill out so that the stock / aftermarket intercooler can be seen better?

You don't need to cut it, should unclip from behind the bumper, mine did but my car is an '08

I would keep the grill to protect the FMIC from rocks and other road debris.

I don't disagree but at the same time i want to flaunt the FMIC. I was thinking of a skinny mesh to do the same just not as effective. We already can not get a BOV, so i figured i might as well make it known and ignorant looking from the front angle.

No kidding. I had an armadillo go through mine on my 2006 M Roadster. Without the lower grill I may have lost the oil cooler.

Hi,

Just wondering how you take it off without taking the bumper?

Agreed with the intake idea. BMS intake for the n55 sounds amazing.

Is there any DIY for how to remove those lower valance grills? Just ordered some race mesh black along with kidney grill replacement and can’t find anything on how to remove the lower grills for replacement.

I have intercooler from Active Autowerke. I don't think that if you have aftermarket intercooler you need to cut bumper grills.

Guess it's about people's taste.
