I'm Very Disappointed

I think the car is considerably overpriced and have all but crossed it off my list mentally now. Actually, it's the options that are overpriced. I'll probably just go with a slightly used 911 now, for the same money.

What were they thinking?

Ein-er

PS BMW, if you're listening, I tried to give you my business.

What?!?! Autoblog definitely hit the nail on the head, "accidentally" priced.....

What a joke, BMW is really dumb on this one..the options I would want, would put in mid 40s nearly...insane.

Thank you BMW for making my decision easy...no 135i for me..

I will sell my 03 M3 and go another route..much better cars out there for the $$$ IMO.

yeah 128i options such as slightly different sport package and xenons are missing here... overall looks incrementally cheaper than 3series opts which is what i was ball-parking against...

I don't see how everyone here is excited about these prices....

$3330 for the premium package!!!!! It costs $2550 on the 335i sedan and coupe! The only difference between the premium packages of the 1 series and 3 series is that the prem. package on the 135i is including power seats and ambient lighting package, but they're already standard on the 3 series!

I'm also not happy to confirm that the premium audio is not the Logic 7 system. Being only $875 means it is the same sub-par premium sound option on the X3 (which I got on my car, it sounds really bad). If it were logic 7, the option should have cost around $1200.

All the other options are the same exact price as the options on the 3 series. No surprise there, but then again, nothing to get excited about.

And nearly $1000 for power seats? Give me a break. If you look at this car from the perspective of the car's performance and try to find a similar car at that price, you'll say that it has a lot of value. But then if you weigh it against BMW's own cars, you'll find that its not so much a value. I guess its the only thing they could do to prevent it from cannibalizing sales of the 3 series, yet lure buyers who were just a couple grand off from buying a 335i.

$39,000 for a hopped up economy car that is overweight, understeers and has vague steering...

Bizzarre.

Base + Sport + Leather + Stereo = $39,000. Don't even know if that includes delivery.

And that's lightly optioned and doesn't even include power seats or metallic paint, which would take this pig over $40K.

Absurd.

BMW has misread the market. This car will not be a volume success.

Hello Porsche!

Ouch!

I'm at $44,475 witout destination!

135i $34,900
ZPP $3,300
ZSP $1,000
ZCW $600
Comfort Access $500
Navigation $2100
HD Radio $350 (I might not order this)
Premium Hi-Fi $850 (I might not order this)
IPOD/USB Adapter $400 (OMFG! WHY SO HIGH!!!!!!)
Metallic Paint $475 (I might skip Metallic and go for AW!)

Or $42,800 without the maybe's...

My `03 ZHP Sedan with similar options (no 300hp TT, Comfort Access or IPOD adapter though) was right at $44,000 (plus $695 destination) in 2003. So, IMO, this isnt too bad at all! Well, if its as close to the size of an e46 coupe as we think it is. Then again, if its not, who cares! I have two other "people haulers" if I need them...

Then again, a face-lifted 335i sedan or 335xi sedan for not much more might be another idea. I think I built each of those not too long ago for right at $50k loaded like I would want. I dont have snow, but the xi would be fun for putting the TT power down to the ground, especially after mods...

Maybe the 1er is or isnt the one for me. But I'm still excited! More info will be needed to make the final decision (1er ED Invoice VS 3er ED Invoice), plus, I need to see the offical Face Lifted 335i...

Actually, $1000 for the Sport Package is not a good deal as you only get:

1. Sport Seats
2. Shadowline trim
3. M leather wrapped multi-function steering wheel

The Sport suspension is included in base price.

Xenons are standard on both 3er coupes, so hopefully they're standard on both 1er coupes, too.

What happened to the sport package being standard on the 135, man I'm so freakin pissed.
This just keeps getting worse and worse. They are going to nickel and dime us to death on this thing. I am looking at official BMW dealer memo's saying the sport package is standard on the 135, I was planning on getting into a base manual tranny no frills 135 with the sport package for no more than $34-35k, and now it looks like I'll be $37k+ delivery and dealer charges likely pushing it over $38k just to get what BMW leaked a few months ago out of New Jersey operations as a $32k price point car.
If they don't have a good lease price deal then I'm out on the 135, I'll take myself off of the dealer list and keep the M3 I'm in now or pick up a CPO 335 sedan for close to the same price, this sucks big time.

Sport suspension has always been mentioned as being included on the 135i. I've never seen any speculation that the sport package was included. :iono:

The brochure and ordering guide were very clear about this.

Nickel and dime, yep sounds like BMW allright.

Since the base car already has the Sport suspension, you don't really need the Sport Package which only gets you some trim and the sport seats.

In the base car, you already get the M aero, sport suspension and 18" wheels. Stick with that, and you'll have what you want at the price you want.

Another angle is to do something to decrease the price:
1. Wait a couple of months and you should be able to find a dealer who'll take $1k-2k off the MSRP.
2. Go via Euro Delivery which should lopp off a solid $3k-5k off the US MSRP.

Same deal as on the 3 series coupe. Sport suspension calibration is standard, but if you want the amazing Sport Seats (and they are absolutely top notch), you need to pay an extra grand.

This pricing is in line with the Euro version where you can get the Sport seats a-la-carte, but they're not cheap (500 Euro if I'm not mistaken).

Leftlanenews has options pricing. You're gonna have to add $7000 in options to get a decent car. That's just insane. $400 for an ipod adaptor? $750 for Bluetooth? Fuck off. I knew it was gonna be the options that were gonna be the deal breaker.

Would you happen to have a bigger pic? I'm trying to read the fine print at the bottom, to find out what goes into the Premium Package (Assist, power seats, leather, some mirror stuff and perhaps Premium Sound?). If Premium Sound goes in, then it's not a bad deal...

Yea, this pricing is starting to look stupid IMO.

To get the 135i the way any other car in this segment comes equipped (with sport seats/leather) you're talking $38k.

I'm sure the real hard core folks on here will swallow this sh*t, but it's starting to look just like everything else BMW has done in the last few years, a nice car, but just plain overpriced!:bs:

this is a BMW! they don't just give them away! man up! just giving you a hard time.

seriously though an equally spec'd 335i is around 53k so it isn't that unexpected. i'd assume there are some profit games with the packages too that allow them to get a sub 35k MSRP.
