Gotta love stupid drivers, they always keep you on your toes... This happened to me the other day. Driver of the other car had no clue, and yes, I clipped the video prior to my verbal barrage... Fortunately no damage to the car and no issue with alignment, still drives straight. I was lucky the curb was angled and the drain wasn't closer than it was.

Wtf was he/she changing lanes for anyway? People are oblivious these days. Other drivers are constantly swerved by into my lane. Everyday I'm slowing down to avoid crap like that.

This is why I haul away from intersections when I'm in front, to avoid any confusion and chaos that can ensue, especially if there is any sort of merge or dead-ending lanes for people to be confused about.

Good reactions from the O.P. look where you want to go, not where you don't. You could definitely have been more aggressive with the horn, and probably have hit the brakes and avoided it completely, but we now have the advantage of hindsight.

In retrospect, I should have been on the horn sooner, but I really wasn't paying close attention... once I realized they were coming over, it was an emergency maneuver to get out of the way. It was a blinker and then move into my lane at the same time. Have to say it caught me by surprise...

That guy wasn't paying attention or he would've saw you. I hate it when drivers put their blinker on and think "okay, now I can change lanes," without even bothering to look. Could've been a lot worse. Luckily it wasn't.

Just to clarify here, it was a young girl driving the car. I'm thinking part of the problem was lack of years of driving experience on her part...

I can't even tell you how many times I dealt with this when I had my motorcycle. It's the reason I sold it. People just flip on their blinker and think they have the right of way. I put my heel into a minivan when a woman nearly ran me off the road coming onto the highway at 65mph+ without even looking or signaling.

Same here. One of the reasons I sold the motorcycles.

I would have had a new 1M replica bumper. But I'm over my 1er now, with so many issues this car has been it might be the last BMW for me besides an e30 (my first car) or a 2002ti if I could ever find a nice clean one up here in Canada.
