N55 JB4 stage 2 new casing?

I just received my N55 JB4 stage 2 and it came with all the proper N55 wires but the plastic casing looks like it came from a N54 JB4. The plastic casing is VERY loose and sounds cheap like the ecu is moving around inside the plastic casing quite a bit.

Has anyone received this setup before?

I think that's the new case BMS came out with to combat heat generation. That looks nothing like my N54 JB4. Check N54 tech. Forums. I think they have pics on the new case thread.

That is exactly what I received. I don't feel that the case is too loose. The case is designed to be opened by the user without tools. If it were any tighter the use of prying tools would be necessary. My N55 JB4 stage 2 is working well in that exact configuration with the BMS USB cable running through the hole in the back, bottom, center of the housing where the JB4 sits.

So mad! I was so excited to install my jb4 today. So I pulled everything apart and I'm about to install and they shipped me the wrong harness!!!! They sent me a type B when I ordered a type A. So now I have to wait for them to send the correct harness.

I also have the new box style; did you have any trouble getting USB to fit? I found that the tabs to hold the actual connection in place were too big on both units to get a solid connection; so I clipped the USB tabs off and screwed together.

Terry is a great guy, he'll make it right. You didn't notice a different harness prior to working on the car? Always inspect products when they come in to double check, just my $0.02--You'll love the JB4 when you get it in tho. Transforms the car instantly

I didn't have any problems getting the USB to fit. It was also really easy to route into the cabin.

I took pictures of what happened; i'll have to upload them at some point. Good to hear; sounds like I just got unlucky. It happens, keep modding anyway!

I'm surprised you find the newer enclosure cheap looking. I think it's 100% nicer feeling and looking than the previous generic one. It sits hidden away in the DME box anyway so it's not like anyone will ever see it but this new one is high temp resin vs. the old plastic one. The board fits slightly loose intentionally to make it easier to install/remove the board and facilitate cooling. I've also not heard of any issues connecting the USB cable to the JB4 box with the new enclosure.

Well it sounds like these changes are definitely for the better. (high temp resin and easier removal) So with that in mind I'm happy for the new design
