“Weight reduction package” (they know what they have)

It shouldn’t last long.

Someone elsewhere posted about this car. This is all you need to know. Wow!:

“I was late... It's not far from where I live. So I was headed over there with the cash... Already called my insurance company...
I called to tell the guy I was on my way and he said he had like four people from California several people from NY... several from Colorado... a bunch of emails and Facebook messages on it

He said he’s been in the car business since 85 and hasn't had that many calls on a single car ever.

Snooze you loose... I guess I Should of went over there yesterday.”

This one has a dinged carfax and 150k miles, but it's also a stick M-sport 128i that presents nicely for less than $8K. If I was local I might well have jumped on it even though I don't need another car. Seller seems motivated and was nice when I messaged him a week ago. https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/e...-9f331a003dd5/

I have to assume the "weight reduction package" includes vinyl interior, no heated-seats, and those shitty halogen headlights.

I'll take a bit more weight, thank you!

In my case it was a choice between shitty halogens or a shitty sunroof. Xenons weren't offered ala carte. ZLP ($900) required ZPP ($3600) for which I had no desire. $4500 xenons they are not.

I have no problem seeing with the shitty halogens and I don't have 40 pounds of shitty, unused sunroof above my head or that blister of a shitty, obsolete navigation system sitting in front of my face. At least the leather interior was offered ala carte, but I was pretty disappointed to discover they are only leather on the "seating surfaces".

I felt strongly about getting an m sport and a manual. For me, at some point I had to level with myself and admit that I probably won’t track it much if at all and I will never notice the weight of the sunroof and can do a CarPlay mod and make the nav a plus instead of a minus.

The mix of the sunroof and the heated seats is actually perfect for crisp nights and that’s when I do all my fun driving anyway.

Also, I think all US spec e30 M3s came with a sunroof.

Having a sunroof isn't a deal breaker... But you can get a nice CF plug and have it clean if you can find the slicktop headliner.

I just deleted my sunroof in my K swap track Integra... And despite loosing 40lbs at the worst spot on the car, I didn't set any personal best for the day. I can't tell a difference to be honest and I've tracked it for 10+ track days on the exact setup, only one day now without the sunroof.

All that said... I'll still delete it from whatever 128i I get; if I don't get a slicktop.

I don't use the nav to navigate but it makes the Music Collection or any iPod-type connectivity work so much better! Even a Bluetooth phone is much easier to use in a car with Nav.

If you want full-leather you have to go back to pre-2010 sport seats, I believe.

More power to you if you can see well at night with the stock Halogens. That was on the deal-breaker list for me in the last two E82s and my wife's "new" E90.
