Yea, I also had a 2016 328i as my loaner. It's plenty quick, but had no real road feel. The steering...sucked. It's not just the EPS, as my S2000 has that, but pulls it off a whole lot better.

I haven't driven a 335i of the same year, but if its steering is like this...it's not something I'd pay $40K for.

$40K? What, you want a poverty-spec model? /s

Seriously, I was in a 328i loaner for a week in December. I started convincing myself "hey, I could live with this." I got into my 135i and thought . . .never. It was definitely the EPS. The 135i steering was so nice comparatively.

Well, that explains what happened to me last month. I was headed North on I77 through West Virginia running about 90 mph. Without much warning, a newish 328i passed me going just a bit faster. I decided to pace him just for the sheer pleasure of watching a BMW manage the twisty road at speed. I was close enough to sense a brief exchange between the driver and his passenger during which he was probably saying something like, "Hold on to something." I was able to keep up for just a few seconds before he pulled away at a pace I did not feel comfortable keeping in moderate traffic on a public thoroughfare.

Never had a 328i simply walk away from me like that.
