So its a nice day and I decide to go out to lunch.

Get to my car and the key fob wont unlock the doors, trunk, anything.
Not a click, not a peep, nothing.
I figure the fob might be dead.

Open the car with the blade and car is completely dead.
Not even a click when I hit the start button.

The only thing I notice is a faint clicking from behind the glove box, then that even stops.

Call AAA and he asks to open the trunk so he can get the tow hook out. Of course the trunk won't open without power.

So he tries to jump it and we got enough power to open the trunk but still won't start.

Now its on a flat bed headed to the dealer.

And of course the top is down and won't go up.

Battery? Something else?

Car is 2012 never replaced battery.
Got no warning this morning when I drove it into work.
Car seemed fine. Then 4 hours later completely dead.

Almost certainly just a battery. Why the battery died so abruptly might point to a short or just an accessory that was left on.

Battery or starter. Good opportunity to get the z4M/MCS battery!

Also could be the intelligent battery sensor. That thing will shut off the car completely to "protect" the battery.

Mine did that earlier. NOTHING like it was disconnected. We put a jump pack on it and nothing. My son brought the truck and it fired right up before we hooked up the jumper cables. Think the IBS thought battery was OK after the jump pack.

I disconnected the IBS and no further issues.

Two plugs, one on the positive and one on the negative.

Haven't replaced it yet and probably wont.
