Anybody hit top speed their E90 3 Series?
Yesterday night, my buddy and I had some fun freeway, he's car 05 Subie WRX and my car is E90 330i manual! I hit top speed 149MPH. Very Stable! I held a steering wheel tight! I will not speeding anymore, Bimmer 330i easily hit 100MPH often times! My right feet can't control gas pedel, it felt too light!
I drove zig zag pass other cars, my best friend's WRX left behind!:rocks: Good Kill!

Still in the break-in so I haven't gone past 95. But I'd be kinda freaked to go 149 on a public road.

That's fast
That's fast! I'm still in break-in mode. Zigging and Zagging at 140 sounds pretty scary to me on the hwy.

Right, it´s been at least a week since the last "how fast have you driven", "ever reached top-speed" thread. But you never can have enough of those replays, So here´s my contribution:
I drive my E90 at Vmax (155mph) almost daily when on summer tires. When on winters, they limit me to about 130mph Right strip of road provided, there really is nothing to it.

155 while doing the ED on the autobahn going to stuttgart. The steering stays tight all the way up to about 145, then it starts to get pretty loose and sensitive, but never in a way where it is scary (such as driving a 2000 chevy impala at 105mph)! Too bad I'll never be able to experience this again while in the U.S.

Whats really scary is those sub2.8ton (no speed limiter) delivery trucks (think UPS Van) that go 100-120mph with stressed out, drugged out, messed up delivery drivers constantly behind schedule. Those are really dangerous. Actually the police have a term for accidents with those they´re the "Sprinter kills" named after the Mercedes Sprinter, a popular light delivery truck Btw. Time for you to come visit broken. But you´ll need to bring your 158footed lemon black beauty and take it for a spin. Maybe even a round on the "ring". Couldn´t you drive up the cost via gibraltar? Should be a nice long holiday trip...

Why do you waste your life and E90's bandwidth and server space?
You are not the first E90 owner. Its not in its first month of production. Its been out for a while. Usually someone will go top speed on an ungoverned road as soon as they get it....

Bravo. Thanks for endangering the lives of everyone you happened to "zig-zag" past that night. These are southern CA freeways, not the autobahn. People with your gross immaturity, blatant disregard for others, and abominable judgment shouldn't even be driving, period. SmellyGas |

Only hit 125 and only once and it was 3am, it's just too freaky on US public roads. US motorists almost never obey the fast lane, in fact, I don't think most people acknowledge the left lane as fast/passing lane. Which is why I get stuck behind people driving 55mph in the left lane while traffic is moving at 75mph in other lanes.
OK, it was never legally marked as the fast lane, I know. But it's just that with some common sense it's pretty easy to understand why the most left lane should be clear most if not all the time unless you are passing, or going really really fast. Just my 2 pennies. |

I agree with Tierfreund. I have nearly reach my max quite a few times on the autobahn. In some areas it is like the Indianapolis 500. Although, BMWs and Audi's are the main bahnburners, Opel and VWs can hold their own. What interest me the most is that the BMW and Audi stationwagon drivers are the most aggressive. These guys give driving a stationwagon new meaning. Its no longer a family car. |
