I wanted to order "special color" but got refusal from bmw.be
the asked for a respray but got adviced against it

In the age of Xenon light, it turns out the US standard and EU headlight beaming specs have come close enough for the NA headlights to also have been qualified for EU road-use (check the topside of your NA housing, with opened hood, you'll see a circle wit Ex stamped in it).

Untill a Euro E82 owner that favors US style headlights is found, they'll be on there.

Got it. When my parents used to live in the US in the late 90s, my mother drove a '98 SL500. Obviously with US-spec lights. When they moved back to Europe, the SL500 was shipped as well. Of course, the lights have to be switched to euro-spec. When we sold the car to a gentleman in Norway, he immediately swapped the euro-spec lights to the US-spec ones (we had saved them) just to have a different look. Funny how that works!

Yes!

I was there in 2013! We were driving back that sunday from a weekend Nurburgring & Holland and made a stop in Antwerp and saw the 1M meeting.
Last year, I bought my 1M
