When did the N54 HPFP get so expensive?
Just looking for a sanity check here. My JB4 started kicking me into map 4 (safe mode, stock boost) and all signs point to the high pressure fuel pump.
A couple years ago I remember this thing costing around $400-ish. Now I look on FCP and ECS and the OEM fuel pumps are $850+. What happened? Did they discontinue these things and prices will keep going up as inventories drop? Is this a result of covid supply chain impacts? Am I losing my mind and they've always been this expensive? |

I'd log before replacing the HPFP as there are numerous reasons that could be happening.

You're right that the price has increased. I replaced my HPFP on my early production N55 3 years ago and it was $350+$50 core charge. List price now shows $721+$75 core charge.
Thank goodness for lifetime FCP Euro warranty, although I wonder how it works with this large price difference. |

Im about to buy one for any engine build and it hurts bad plus $75 core deposit. I didnt want to order one last year when it was $500. I had mine on a junkyard motor that was froze up. And I luckily had one from my old motor here to use. Are they selling rebuilt ones? I wonder if there is anyway to rebuild these ?
I know a guy who is testing stuff to delete the hpfp. Would be great of it works |

Post a log? Is your lpfp dipping? Or strictly hpfp dipping?
