nice! dp's are pretty awesome. i think the non-resonated cp-e dp-back exhaust will drone. they can put the "stealth pipe" on that will reduce the drone, but you'll also loose the loudness and probably some of the "exotic" exhaust note. IMHO drone isn't a big deal. i ran a straight pipe (no resonator or muffler) on my last car. i just loved teh way it sounded.

cp-e's exhaust will work on the n55. on an older thread ar design made (that has since been deleted), a member gave a great review of the cp-e exhaust on an n55.

the berk street cat back will be a little louder than the bmw p.e. exhaust.

Unfortunatly the reality of getting a loud exhaust, you will get drone.

it just depends how much you want to put up with.

nothing that i've seen yet. eventually, there will be 6-8 intakes for the n55 like there are for the n54.

in the meantime, get the icarbon downpipe and vishnu procede v4! that will definitely wake up your car

lol what's warranty?

I once had a car with warranty, I got bored. Never did it again.

I think i lasted about 6 months before i couldn't do it anymore.

a broken part is an excuse for an upgraded part

i thoroughly enjoy driving my car w/ the mods currently on it. a stock or lightly modded 135i is a nice car, but no comparrison.

FDfranklin- get the procede V4. you can remove it before dealer visits and your warranty will be in-tact.

Just be prepared to have a permanent smile, and be prepared to look for new tires after about 16,000 miles. preferably the non run flat sort.

and supposedly the Procede should have some fuel savings for you, if you stay off the loud pedal.

I will be getting a tune in the near future, that's for sure.

DP and meth probably wont see this car unless I get a cheap DD of some sort in the near future.

Ive had a fully modded car before so I know what im missing and what im not missing (although my view might be skewed due to owning a rotary).

Ive set myself to only do tune/I/E on this car and hopefully buy another rx7 in the future as my "fast" car, probably ls1 though .

^nice! i used to have a turbo-II fc rx-7. i've always been a big rotary engine fan. tune-only n55 would still be a blast to drive

i agree with The1, however, be ready to replace rear tires on a frequent basis. also, get into the routine of disabling dtc whenever you start your car

Thanks will do!

Another Q:

Ive never bought exhaust before, my 7 had it when I bought it and I never modded my S. I live in Florida and don't need anything for emissions... I just want sound don't really care about performance since there isn't much to gain with exhaust anyways. Is there exhaust out there that has 0 emissions on it, no cats or anything? I'm just looking for axleback right now and some of the companies websites don't give too much info, ive heard good things about Berk but their axleback has no info on it.

you don't have secondary cat's on the stock exhaust like the n54 does, so either an axle back or dp-back exhaust would be fine. sound wise, a muffler delete axle back would be pretty loud, while a street muffler axle back would be a little more tame (still louder than stock).

i always recommend the cp-e exhaust, it's probably the best on the market at the moment. HPF should have their exhaust finished within the next few months, however (i'm either holding out for the hpf or staying on the stock exhaust w/ my dp's)

berk muffler delete will be the loudest, followed by the Meisterchaft, cp-e, and berk street muffler. the cp-e and berk street muffler are pretty close in loudness, with the cp-e slightly louder from what i've heard

Launching Techniques?

Traction control all the way off are in the half setting?

What rpms to launch at, and a complete dump or gradual?

i tend to baby my car, so i don't dump the clutch on launching at the drag strip. for me, i disable dtc, rev to 2.5 or 3k rpms, aggressively let the clutch out without just dumping it. it's not the "best" launch technique to cut good 60' times, but it might save my half shafts or preserve some clutch life
