Negleted

My poor 1 series is stuck outside in the snow while the Aston looks on in shock!

mine stuck too, in probably the same snows here... dug my way out, neighborhood streets still terrible, helped neighbor push his car *back* into driveway when he couldn't make it. I'd be fine as long as I don't have to do a full stop in the wrong spot... but the road is littered with abandoned cars and SUVs nearly hitting each other.

Always have had a "soft" spot for Aston's.

Great looking car!

Been on the fence awhile about a few different "weekend" cars when we finally get moved into our new house.

Always figured I would be getting rid of the C6 for a C7, but recently I have been looking at the Maserati Granturismo Quattroporte.

Prices have really come down on them in the last couple of years, and they have this awesome custom sound and exotic look.

If it's cold, they're cold. Bring your 1 series inside, please.

The Aston was an upgrade weekend car for my 2008 Z4 MCoupe.
I also looked at the gran turismo, but it was just too big for me. So I went for the 4.7 Vantage S. I’ve never had any regrets. She sounds fantastic and handles like a dream. I don’t think I’ll ever sell her. I’m into my third year of ownership and I’ve never had a issue. I would suggest your try one.

I know, I wish I could. I only have a two car garage and the X5 sits beside the Aston.

I feel that struggle. My truck has to sit out in the cold so the 135 can sleep in the comfort of the garage. lol

Heck, I live in the city, and I only have a tiny single car garage. Our bicycles and stuff take up enough room that I can barely get my single car in there.

You had better rethink that. The Maserati will cost you a fortune to maintain. Why do you think the prices are so soft on this car?

Some models of Toyota and Mazda have more value after a few years than many high buck rides. These cars are for the rich who have so much money to spend they don't care what they cost to maintain!

I would definitely look into it more before considering it. Most of the issues I have seen were fuel delivery lines, and some alternator/starter wiring issues.

But these were in the 2014+ models. I have a friend with a 2013 model since it was new, and never really had a lot of issues with it...just routine maintenance.

But it was driving his car that even put it on the radar for me.

I always go looking for something different each time I swap weekend cars...but always end back up in Corvettes. I was raised around them so I can do all my own wrenching, tuning, etc.

In the end it will still probably end up being something like a C7Z.

My 128i is driving through a foot of north Idaho snow everyday this week and my coworkers are blown away that a rear drive car can make it around. RALLY!

The right tires and a good driver mod, and you can drive almost anything almost anywhere. I love my car in the snow (for multiple reasons)...

Similar situation here...

I was on vacation for the month of January, and there was a huge snowstorm the day I came back.

My C43 4matic is in the garage. The 128 is on performance summer tires. There's a good 2-in thick layer of ice under the snow. The 128 is not moving.

I have 2 choices: use a sh*tload of salt to create 2 clean tracks for the tires to find some grip. Or jack the car in the snow and siberian cold weather to put the winter rims in the rear.

As my brother said: it's a lose-lose situation.

methinks those summer tires may have been exposed to sub-40f temps while you were away...

This is a great time to buy a Vet. They are backed up on the dealers lots with an abnormal supply of them. They aren't selling due to the SUV craze. You can write your own ticket on one.

Yeah...I have a C6 LS3 already. I typically wait until the next generation comes out, and buy the previous one as everyone is selling them off to get into the newer model!

Been doing it for years

More like -20 F. Yes, negative 20 F.

They won't last long anyway, they're track tires.

Good place to find out if the stories are true - will random chunks of tread blocks come flying off under high G's and heavy load at the track?
We'll find out in just a couple of weeks!
