e88 - Program Climate control for convert?

I picked up a new climate control (CC) head off ebay after my last one stopped changing temperature. I figure it should be a simple plug and play.

The convertible top controller buttons (up/down) plug into the back of the climate control head unit. Upon putting in the new CC head my ability to change the temp in the car returned, but I was not able to lower and raise the the top.

Hoping someone will know:
- Does the e88 require a specific CC head unit to control the top? Meaning one from a hard top 3 or 1 wouldn't work.
- Does the CC head unit need to be programmed for a convertible?

+1 on this exact issue, it may be something that can be fixed with coding. I'm going to explore that possibility tonight

No luck, but I don't have the coding tools working very well yet - I'm paying a vi$it to the dealer on Friday, I'll ask if they can do it without charging insane amounts of money

Ha - fat chance. They wanted $200+ just to see if they COULD fix it.

I did some digging around and there is a code in the climate control module for manual convertible top enable/disable, so it may be possible to fix with coding.

For now, I opted for the mechanical approach - swapped the electronics from my original climate control into the unbroken shell of the replacement, so I'm back in operation.

For yours, the climate control in the E88 shows up as an IK__ module, there are several options I see in NCS Dummy, you'd have to hook up to NCS Expert to see which one you have, and hope that it has the convertible top parameter that you can enable...
