thermostat and water pump or just thermostat??
so ive been having the failing water pump symptoms like fan going full speed and very sluggish power. I went and got my code read and it says the thermostat is jammed open. now im just wondering if I should replace my water pump too. I believe it was changed about 40k ago. anything else I should do while I got it torn apart?

If the thermostat is stuck open, the engine should run cooler or colder than normal. On the other hand the fan over or continually running is a sign the engine is over heated.
I guess you had better change both the water pump and the thermostat, since both appear to have gone bonkers! |

I would change both AND that U-shaped hose that connects the two units.
