The iDrive in my 86 635CSi was so much more advanced than that 2002.

Totally agree. I had it in one car, the '04 e60 545. It was the gen 1 with haptic feedback - both ahead of its time and complete garbage. After owning it I now only want to own cars without complicated "infotainment" systems.

If the floors, rockers, frame rails, and shock towers are solid, and the missing beltline trim is present, it's not a bad price. Five speed conversion is real money now, and the front bumper is from an early model, which is also money. It needs paint obviously, but if it's not rusty the rest looks decent. It's clearly being driven, which is a good sign - 02s do not sit well.

A dude I know sells an upgraded version that people are retrofitting into their 2002s and early E30s which have the same seat belt warning light.
