Turner/ECS no longer offering 3IM tunes

It appears that Turner/ECS are no longer offering their 3IM kits and software update. They still sell the intakes, but no longer offer to reflash your ECU. I wonder if the EPA is cracking down on modifications that could affect emissions. Not too long ago I read about some diesel tuners getting charged with crimes.

AA and StageFP still offer them. I believe the Turner one was just a repackaged AA anyway.

If you're on an n52 you can always try the Bimmerlabs 130i tune, which is optimized for the 3IM.

By any chance, do you know if this Bimmerlabs tune would be picked up during a smog check?

This is partially a cross-post but maybe useful (and also I'm looking for more info)

It looks like the Bimmerlabs 130i 3IM tune will not pass emissions in my state (massachusetts). This appears to be because the DMTL check is set to "not supported" by the tune as a result of it being based on the the euro cars that have no DMTL system.

Massachusetts fails any car when a monitor is unsupported which should be. They further flag you to need to visit a "MAC" for addituonal scrutiny before you are permitted to even get re-inspected.

That said, I now have a stock tune back on the car and need to decide how to proceed. I would prefer the "free is better" approach and would like to start with Hass' tune and re-enable the DMTL system. Alternatively, I could purchase an off-the-shelf tune in which this is not an issue. Third option of course is to run Hass' tune as-is until it's time for the annual inspection but I'd rather not do this out of principle.

Any advice on accomplishung option 1 or suggestion of an off the shelf tune for option 2?

AKA, that is interesting. I'm in MA with a non-MA N52 car (otherwise, it would be an N51-equipped vehicle). It has been modified to have the 3-stage plus software from BPC (ok, Bob is not there any longer - where is he?). I've never had with the software causing me to fail the annual inspection. In fact, BMW knows I have a tune and has been kind enough to add a note to my service records to NOT modify software due to the BPC software.

Where are you going for inspections?
