MNavigator, is it possible to upload a very short video of "in-car" footage? (with the windows closed)?

Yes we were up early and thankfully it was on Sunday. But still there were a few close call with my friend almost being run over.

With respect to videos, provided we get a decent connection at tomorrow nights hotel, we hope to have video from SPA both in and out of car. We will finally get to pushing the car hard.

what oil uses the 1M?

10-60 RS like all other M cars
or LL04 0-30 like all N54 / N55 engines ?

Damn, wish I'd spotted you in Paris today. Haven't seen a 1M yet and it'll probably be years before I spot one here.
Great write up. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Man, it's weird - this car looks so different from different angles. I suppose it's somewhat like the regular 1er in that respect - it looks great from some angles and sort of awkward from others.

It looks best from behind, I think. Really emphasizes the wide track.

In a few of the side shots, the wheels just look too big IMO. It looks a bit exaggerated, like a toy car. Looks better from the 3/4 angle, I think. This is really just nitpicking, of course. The big wheels also look sort of tough, so it evens out.

But seriously, what is up with the wheel gap on this car? It's ridiculous. The car looks lifted or something. Not sure how BMW let this one slip by - I mean, I'm sure it performs well, but looks count for something, too. Lowering ride height by an inch would improve the stance SO much.

Anyway, congrats on the new ride and the vacation. Obviously you're having a blast.

Random comment. The pic in Paris in front of Cafe Le Dome. I ate there when I was there 2 years ago. I remember it vividly because you can see the Eiffel tower from there while outside eating. And because they charged me 6€ for a coke. It was like a $9 coke, lol

Also amazed you got a pic at the Arc without traffic. When I went it was about 9 cars deep trying to figure how to get from one turn to another. Chaos. It was almost comical to watch.

Nice journal so far keep it coming.
