Caliper Bolt - Part Number?

Does anyone know if the below part can be purchased separately? I looked at realoem but can't find the actual part, seems to be as part of the caliper. This is for the front caliper by the way.

I snapped one in two pieces, and I would hate to buy the entire caliper to replace one bolt.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

No luck

I tried for almost two months to get this bolt from three different dealers and even got in touch with Brembo. They will not sell you this bolt. Apparently this bolt is never to be removed and when removing the brakes you are supposed to remove the caliper and mounting bracket as a whole by removing part #2 in the diagram above. I do however think you could get these bolts at a hardware dealer like Grainger. I will try to take the bolt in soon and let you guys know what I find. I agree that it is much easier to remove the hex bolt than the #2 bolts shown in the diagram. I used to crew for a race team and we always removed the hex bolts instead of the #2 bolts show in the diagram.

Do you know the dimensions of that bolt? Length and thread pitch?

I would try a place that sells metric fasteners like Wurth or Zelenda. Zelenda machine and tools - are one of the largest metric fastener importers for the USA.

http://www.zelenda.com/

Most indi repair shops get their nuts and bolts (fasteners) from Wurth. But Wurth will not sell direct, they only sell to repair shops.

Or maybe even a mail order parts place like Pelican parts might be able to help you out.
http://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/...th6-detail.htm

IF you could find out the size of that bolt... there is a huge metric fastener shop here where I live in BA... I am sure they would have the right bolt for you. Let me know in a PM.

yeah that'll be a b*tch to remove the other two, I've been doing it this way for a while.. this time, I just didn't pay attention to the torque settings and over torqued the first one.. snapped in two..

Thanks for the feedback

you know I just called the guy back and double checked if these are the two bolts that secures the caliper to the spindle and he said yes. I hope they got it right

Here it is on RealOEM.com but they don't really have a good picture of the bolt.

reporting back in about the bolts. as had been mentioned earlier the bolts are not sold. this is just ridiculous! I am thinking of not loosening those bolts anymore to get to the pads. I have removed those bolts so many times over the last two years that I am sure they must be stressed by now. we should try to find replacements somehow! how can we make replacements? any ideas?

I found a hex head bolt, all other things equal, that I used with two spring washers in order to tighten it for now. Not a real fix; some hardware stores though have similar bolts, just much smaller in diameter; I'm sure this has to exist somewhere online.. I'll try and find out:

thread
width
length

and this has to be available somewhere..

LOL now I'm terrified to start swapping in the race pads. I managed to break a wheel bolt in half last year, why not snap a caliper bolt in half this year?

yeah I am torquing at 70 lbs/in but those bolts can easily be snapped. at this point breaking a bolt is a very expensive proposition
