Its had a crack in it forever... waiting for it to fall out.

Which replacement did you order?

Weird I probably just got a bad one.

Mine sticks out a few mm and is biased towards the top of where it mounts, leaving a small gap on the bottom.

Oh well I RMA'd the 4 month old official BMW one so once that comes in I'm gonna swap them out.

My previous owner already switched it out so:

- the original one
- PO's replacement
- my first replacement which broke
- the Dorman one that's in it right now
- the OEM one again

It's a shit design.

Yeah, I think that is what has kept mine in place for so long. I never slam the trunk.

But I'm still expecting one day... pop!

It's been raining all week here.

I'm having too much fun sliding out of right-handers...

I'm getting brutally reminded of our open diffs though. Think I spooked the DSC system last night: did a fat peel (read: one tire fire) and all the DSC, abs etc. lights came on. They went away like 20 seconds later but who knows what happened. Think it saw such varying wheel speed and thought something was broken.

Lol

When I had that bad wheel bearing, I spun the wheels up with the car on stands, and the cluster lit up like a christmas tree. I cleared the codes in Carly and it was fine.

Did an entertaining drift-ish thing this morning (as much as I could get with everything on). It doesn't intervene smoothly, but I still had fun with it. I think the diff works better when it has to work with less tire...

Rear brakes can only do so much before the computer thinks they have overheated.

After a track day, my rear brake rotors are blue from overheating.

Yeah, I went through an entire set of pads in one weekend, stopping metal-on-metal in the rear for the drive home...

I want an LSD. Badly.

We actually fit both the 1er and the wife's mini in the garage. I've covered it in blue painter's tape just in case.

Part arrives Monday. Probably install it next weekend.

The one that's least expensive, because they all break eventually?
