Will 219M and 2011 TMPS fit 1M?
Hi,
I am going to buy a used set of 18" staggered 219M from a M3 seller with his 2011 TPMS. I would like to make sure both 219M and the TPMS will work on the 1M. I knew the 1M share the Competition Pkg as the M3, but just want to make sure. If I use the 18" 219M, do I need any spacers? And I try to put snow tire on it, so what brand and size will fit 219M perfectly? Thank you.

Are there any compatibility issues with TPMS sensors and aftermarket wheels? Or do the just plug and play on all wheels?

I'm planning on running the same for winter - already picked up the wheels, just need to get TPMS and tires now. A bit wider than ideal, but I like the looks of the 219M in gunmetal.
This thread shows the wheels on a 1M: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=576624 Sal used spacers, but that would be more for cosmetics than necessity to make them fit. The 2011 TPMS should be fine, you can also get a set from Tirerack for around $220 that will work (made by BERU - same manufacturer as OEM) For tires, Tirerack is recommending going to 235/40 and 255/40 which is slightly more narrow than the OEM setup. They have Dunlop 3D, Michelin Alpin, and Pirelli Sottozero in that size setup. From what I've read, Dunlops are better for snow depth/traction, and the Michelin/Pirelli tires are better for performance if the roads are clear of snow and just cold. |

Seems like a popular Winter option I just bought a set of those rims (219M or 260M, not sure but I think they're the same) and will be ordering the tires and TPMS from Tire Rack tomorrow.
The only issue I have is I have the Pirelli's on my R53 and my E91 and like them but was thinking I'd try the Michelin's this time. Problem is I can get PA3s in the right size for the front but not the rear and PA2s for the rear but not the front. Looking at tread pattern I'm thinking that could work well, what do y'all think? New PA3s: (235/40/18 front?) Older PA2s: (255/40/18 rear?)
