agreed! on both.

After owning mine for going into my 4th month now, I have a few to list:
- The seatbelt gong, it has forced me to change my start-up ritual.
- The way dirty water runs down from under the doors down the middle of the side skirts. The only indication the car is dirty besides the brake dust.
- The brake dust, soon to be more tolerable with gunmetal wheels.
- The CDV, the CDV, the damn CDV!
- The way water runs along the middle of the windows when you are driving. If you have the windows open just a little, water can splash into the car from just above where the side mirrors mount on the car.
- Its not a good getaway car. Stick the fob into the slot and hit the button too quickly the car will yell at you.
- The crazy wheel offsets.
- The fact that snow tires will cost me a fricken grand.
- Even though iDrive is available, you would think that after all these years they would spruce up the factory headunit for those who don't or couldnt get iDrive.
- I think the guages and interior lighting needs to be updated. Orange is so 1990.
- The sparse aftermarket
- The weight

On the opposite side of the coin, what I absolutely love:

- That golftee'd exhaust note
- 300, 300
- The stopping power behind all that brake dust
- HID headlights, although I've seen better
- That pssh when I switch gears under hard acceleration
- The garble from the exhaust on the overrun
- The interior is more luxurious than any car I've owned before
- The fact it has a sunroof
- Those adjustable seat bolsters
- The thick steering wheel and the steering wheel controls
- The info from the onboard computer. My previous cars never had that.
- The fact that its NOT a 3 series

None of the above mentioned problems are enough to make me hate the car. I love it, I love getting in it and I love driving it. Even though people say its "entry level", I still think I've done well for myself. I worked my ass off, saved up, and finally bought a car I didnt have to settle for. I mean I had to settle with not being able to get iDrive like I wanted, but oh well I can live without it.
couldnt have said it better myself! and ditto for me

Your arent missing much on the iDrive! I specifically went for 2011 to get the new iDrive. I had the previous version in my 2006 330. I thought it was going to be head and tails above the previous version but it's not unless I am missing something (I'm an IT guy and can't find that much differance). I almost wish I did not spend the extra $2k to get it, the placement of the screen isnt great, I like it better in the 3er, it's more integrated into the dash.
The media for the iPod doesnt need a large screen either..

#1 complaint for me - Stock suspension is too vague / squishy, even after the car is settled in on a long sweeper (if you have to make small adjustments).

HMMMM....

Dislike:
-Navi display set up. The "scoop" thing just seems like its about the opposite of what you'd want to reduce glare. I hate to admit it but the 3 series "dome" is a better concept.

-Brake Dust. I understand its a trade off for having stock Brembo built calipers but just annoying you have to get new pads + seal your wheels if you want only 1/2 the dust (which is still a lot).

-Arm rest storage. I think the could have made the inside A LITTLE bit bigger don't you?

-Angle eye inside halo bias. I hate that the outer rings don't light up as bright as the inners. stupid design on BMW's part.

-OEM rear diffuser. It's like not quite cheap looking but just about as boring and cheap as you can make something on a BMW without people really bitching about it enough. They could have done something better, at least for Msport or ZSP equipped cars maybe. Maybe it could, I dunno... actually DIFFUSE something?

-OEM Runflats. Do I even need to get into this?

Love:
EVERYTHING else about the car. Mod-ability is excellent too which is a big plus for all of us!

The cramped interior, the way the gas pedal seems like it has "steps" you have to hit to get the next level of power, how quickly the DCT goes back to auto mode after grabbing a paddle, the wallowy suspension that doesn't feel too BMW-esque, the non-idrive iPod interface not scrolling backwards through the artists so that I have to go through everything to get to W and the iPod not remembering to stay or or start up shuffle in general. The suspension I'm going to take care of with the performance parts once I save up enough spare cash.

1. cup holder- i hate how my passengers just bump their knees into it. and i have to detach and attach it. and if i use the one under the armrest, i can't... rest my arm. and i have to detach and attach it.
2. arm rest- i wish it had bigger storage
3. amber corners- why.. oh why.
4. brake dust- the rest of the car looks clean by my wheels look like shit!

i am suprised with the trunk space. it isn't as small as i thought it would be considering it is a coupe. i can fit my golf clubs in there vertically without a problem. and the seats fold down which is another plus. my back seat is pretty much my extra storage because no one sits back there anyway.

Only a month in and here is a short list
1. Amber corners that are way too much to replace
2. Condensation on my dash from AC on with windows down
3. Wish it had more little storage compartments for little crap
4. Damn you CDV!!! Need to replace that thing quick.
5. How long it takes for windows to dry after you wash and roll down your windows
6. Tilting side mirror only comes when you order prem package! (2011, if I would have known I would of ordered it just for that reason)
7. Not many mods out yet for the N55. and it seems that most places are still working on stuff for the N54. (c'mon they already have tons of options ha ha ha )

Other than that, the brake dust sucks, but with matte grey Breytons, you can't even tell when they are dirty. (I keep them clean anyway) My Mini had bad brake dust also, but its worth it if you ever have a panic stop.
Love the car and every car that I have ever owned isn't perfect and I am sure you could come up with a list of complaints for any car on the market right now.

most cars i've owned have had bad break dust problems.

I dont like how dirt gathers in the door jam then drips down the center of the side skirt since our door lines are so swoopy.

pretty minor really.

Hey you guys complaining about the gas tank size. This car takes a very long time to break in (20-25k miles) at which point your mileage will greatly improve. It isn't uncommon for me to see mid to high 30s actual, not car calculated, on highways and I have around 45k on the car right now.

I've had three RFT's go out in the first 14K miles. One left me stranded in the middle of nowhere 130 miles from the nearest BMW service center.

Mine doesnt. I tried putting the switch in both the left and the right positions. Still no joy.
