help with wheel paint options

Hi all! Got a discount for powdercoating my wheels. Really well known guy in town offered $550 to fix all curb rash, powdercoat the wheels with clearcoat and paint my calipers that lovely bright blue like on the ///M cars. Does that price sound about right? He was open to giving me a discount if I get it done this week. Main question: WHAT COLOR FOR RIMS? My Jet Black M sport has the stock 207s on it right now. I was thinking: Gloss black, Gunmetal, or a dark bronze. Any suggestions? Thanks! (Pictured is what the car looks like now, with the exception of tints)

I Paid 650 For A More Than Basic Color Wich Used Mutiple Layers Of Coat..
650 Included Fixing Curb Rash(wich Came Out Perfect You Cant Even Tell They Were Worked On)dismounting/mounting /switching Sensors From Other Rims And Balance..
550 Seems Very Fair.. If You Go With A Basic Color And It Doesnt Include All The Other Labor(dismount/mount/balance) Your Still Saving $$
My Rims Have A Sparkle Flake In Em If Not They Would Of Been 100$ A Tire..
Done With Prismatic Powdercoat Powder...wich I Hear Is Top Shelf.

AS FAR AS SUGGESTED COLOR.. IF YOUR GOING RICER ISH LIKE ME.. I WOULD GO WITH A BRIGHT COLOR.. MAYBE A BLUE SIMILAR TO THE YAS MARINA M3/M4'S
OR A BRONZE LOOKS BAD ASS ON A BLACK 1ER..
MOST PEOPLE SHIT ON MY RIMS ON HERE.. BUT I LOVE THE COLOR.. AT NIGHT THEY LOOK WINE COLORED .. AND WHEN THE SUNS OUT ITS ALMOST LIKE A BRIGHT CHERRY RED/FLAKE

Thanks you are the only one who replied haha! Yes it is done and I love them! This shop used a multi-coat process, did all the mounting/dismounting/balancing and did the job exceptionally well (OEM-quality imo). They gave me a lifetime warranty on all work done too. True, with black, especially at night, you can't see design of the rim, but I am such a sucker for blacked out profile. Originally wanted a dark bronze or dark grey, but I saw some examples of the shop's work and I did not like the look of their metallic bronze/gray on a darker vehicle. Looked very tacky/gaudy imo. would've gone matte finish bronze/grey, but they chip so easily, the finish is much more fragile and brake dust is more visible (one major reason I wanted new wheel finish). Black car on black rims with colored calipers were always a dream of mine, anyway. These wheels shine so well with the slightest light (maybe the guy added pearlescent of some kind), they instantly shine back. Seriously, they somehow find a way to shine back at you. I wanted to add some flavor by getting that Yas Marina for the calipers, thought of it as adding an easter egg from newer BMWs . The calipers respond so well to light, especially at night! Someday I hope to add an arctic camo wrap for a unique look. I think it would go great with the wheels and calipers. IDK what other people are on but I love your wheels, especially on that mineral grey! Very bold and compliments the interior well. (Sorry for long writeup)

Will do! I just go to a friend's place, he has a foam gun and uses regular car soap from Detail Garage. I am just going to use that on these wheels, mainly because they don't hold on to brake dust like the old finish did! Plus, i am too cheap to buy specific powdercoated wheel cleaner but regular carsoap shouldn't damage them according to the powdercoater

Damn those turn signals do come as a pair for that cheap! Also, I have already debadged my 128i so I don't want to slap 135 badges on it The tail light tint looks great, but the bottom of my tails have already been sprayed red (so there is no more white section of tail light). This mod left the bottom of my tails looking like the rest of the tail light, but they also have this rough, sandpaper-esque texture now. I don't think any tinted film will adhere to it, so the guy that did the "red-out" will also lightly smoke the tail lights with that spray on stuff to achieve the backline level of tint. He does it cheap and it is reversible with some acetone/solvent, so I am not complaining lol.

will def look into the head light tints. Yes I like the red out, but I want it a bit darker and my guy said he can do a light smoke same way he did the red out with some spray on crap. The spray on stuff is reversible though so I think I will go thru with that. And yes, I have a 128. Sometimes I wish I had the 135, other times I wish I had an M car, but this thing aint a bad daily driver

I feel cheated haha! Did you have to remount the tires again/balance? I dropped my car off for a day and when it was done it had been aligned and rebalanced, ready to go.
