No way it could happen again...right?haha

Stock 09 135...no mods! All recalls done, to include HPFP. Yet I go outside this morning and start her up...and bam! Rough idle at cold start and SES light comes on. Attempted to cut it off a few times to see if it would clear...no go. Car runs fine, no hesitation, doesn't go into limp mode. SES light stays on. Checked codes..P0300,0301,0302. Could this be the HPFP again? It has just over 51xxx on the odo...could it be spark plugs? This happened in sept also and took it to BMW, and they ran a diagnostic and said there were no codes stored. Gave it a clean bill of health. No issues again until this morning. Need some advice please. Thanks

Yea I know their misfires...so I was wondering if that was plugs, hpfp, or a cold start up issue. With it running fine and not going into limp mode I don't know what the diagnosis could be, and if the car was fine to drive.

Sounds familiar, mine was doing the same last month. At first no codes showed up at the service center. Then they had BMW pull stored info off their data and found it to be a coil pack. This fixed the issue for about 3 weeks and I brought it back. They then replaced injectors and yet another HPFP as well as completed a walnut shell blasting. They called today and its still not acting right so they are replacing the remaining injectos and looking into a software failure of some sort. My suggestion would be to keep pushing them and have BMW pull codes that are stored with them. PS, when BMW pulls codes they have stored they will see any tunes you have made also any crazy driving u may have done. They have access to pressures, shift points and speeds,,,tach etc

^^^man what a nightmare. Did your go into limp mode and lose power before you took it into the dealer? Right now the car seems to be running fine. But I have to take about a 12 hour drive here in like 3 weeks. I'm worried it won't make it.the other thing is, all of the recalls have been done. The hpfp, software update done, battery cable, third brake light, and the injectors were checked in sept and given the all clear. The only thing that hasn't been done is coil packs and plugs. I wonder if that could be it?

I had the same issue last week, i replace all spark plugs...same issue occured. So i assumed that it was the injector considering the coils were fine. So i took it to the dealership and they replace all 6 injectors under warrenty, all 6 injectors were leaking causing the misfires in the mornings.

No limp mode, just real rough idle, especially on cold start. jerky acceleration too. It should be right now tho, will know Monday when I pick it up.

Wouldn't I have power loss or go into limp mode if it were that? Not sure...BMW is new to me and I'm trying to read a lot and learn as much as possible....but I'm appreciating these opinions. I am taking it to the dealer tomorrow to see what they say

Mine is back, injectors replaced, carbon blasted and runs like a new car again. Fingers crossed for it to stay healthy. If you can get these done I highly recommend it. The injectors wont throw a code, or at least mine didn't. They base it on the symptoms you describe and what they find while testing it as well as ur current mileage.

Update: it's the injectors. Bank 1. But since my injectors are below series 11 they have to replace all 6. $2495 price tag on that job. Geesh!

Any occurrences on N55 engines, or is this related to N54 only?

Yep! But instead I ordered the injectors from getbmwparts.com for $925 shipped and I'll have them installed for much less than BMW charges
