Fantastic work! Looks absolutely ace...
Nothing like the satisfaction of a clean/polished black car. Until it gets dirty haha

OE and Genuine everything, mounts, perches, bolts, m sport shocks, swaybar links, etc.

The refreshed suspension feels incredible, like a new car.
Front strut top mounts were definitely worn and causing some crashiness.
Ball joints in the sway bar links were shot as well.
Rear shocks are nearing end of life.

What surprised me was the excellent condition of all factory parts, including the fact that the front shocks were still in great shape.

Took the time to spray some Fluid Film as well, just in case.

Found a great car that hasn't been winter driven

No rust!!

All of the original parts.

Back together.

Beautiful, just read this whole thread and inspired me to do some things to my car!

Do you happen to have the PN of the shocks you got and also the e9x M CDV?

Great work - despite that curmudgeon I spot you had working with you

How's the ride height compared to the older components? I'm guessing you gained a bit at the front due to the compressed strut mounts?

Thanks man!!

I gained ~5mm up front, no change in the rear.
I'm pretty pleased, figured it'd be worse.

Getting ready for fall fluid and filter changes.
Also new rear end links, replacement sensors, and new underbody trim screws.

Got me thinking about the triangle too.

I’m an oem+ fan.

Next up, bmw PE install. Waiting for my shift kit to arrive, do them both at once.
Replace cracked third brake light too and rear emblem, which seems to have a bit of oxidation.

Come fall, respray and ppf the front bumper, and replace the rubber flaps.
Where did you go for the respray? I need to get my front bumper resprayed and PPF applied. Thanks.

Hasn't happened yet!
I want to buy a spare bumper to use while mine is out for paint and PPF (need to wait at least 4 weeks for paint to cure before PPF applied).

I plan to take it to: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Dupon...9015613685966/

Thanks. I may try to get on the waiting list at the collision place that repaired the back end.

Which shop?

This place is a BMW specialist, but apparently quite pricy.

Yeah, that's the place that fixed my car after the hit-and-run. I've asked them for an estimate. Last time the insurance company paid; this time would be on my dime.

I wonder what's your go-to spot to get parts from? Are you getting them directly from BMW? I'm located in Ottawa btw.

I admire the effort you're putting into your 135, not many people put this much effort in their 15 year old cars.

Did you do most of the work yourself? Or do you have a mechanic helping you?

I'm debating changing some parts on my 135, but kinda scared to screw anything up.
